András Mink at the International Journalism Forum in Athens

01/10/2025

From September 25 to 27, 2025, the international journalist training organization Incubator for Media Education (iMEdD) held its annual conference in Athens, the International Journalism Forum. This year’s program was organized around the theme Navigating the Age of Doubt and, for the first time, included a session on the relationship between journalism and archives. In this discussion, historian András Mink, the Archivum’s research fellow spoke about how archives can contribute to preserving and ensuring the authenticity of data and information, and about the conditions and potential pitfalls of archival preservation.

Co-panelists on stage were Renata Avila, chief executive officer of the London-based Open Office Foundation, and Gwen Jones, archival researcher and curator at the International Press Institute (and a former colleague at Blinken OSA Archivum). The discussion was moderated by Timothy Large, director of media programs at the International Press Institute.

The program of the conference is available here: https://forum.imedd.org/en/journalism-forum-2025/agenda/

The recording of the event is available on this link.
